Alastair graduated from Bretton Hall in 2004 with a degree in Performance Design and Production where he specialised in lighting design.
He is currently Head of Lighting at Northern Ballet where he has designed multiple shows for the main company including Giselle, I Got Rhythm, Jayne Eyre and Madam Butterfly midscale tour and most recently Casanova. As well as tour lighting for Wuthering Heights, Peter Pan, Christmas Carol and The Nutcracker. He has also designed several productions for the companies small scale children’s ballets Ugly Duckling, The Three Little Pigs, Elves and The Shoemaker, Tortoise and the Hare and Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Alastair has worked alongside the choreographer Kenneth Tindall over the last 9 years on several short Pieces: Project One, Luminous Junc·ture, The Architect and Most recently Shape of Sound.
He has also re-lit, re-designed and re-created various productions throughout his career, whilst working for Sheffield Theatres, RSC and multiple commercial tours.
Other design credits: Jungle Book for Derby Theatre, Cinderella, Aladdin and Sleeping Beauty for Cast in Doncaster. Puzzle Women for Dead Ernest, The Indian Boy for RSC Cube Season, La Ronde for Bolt Productions
